Protecting My iPod Touch-The Girlie Way.

Since there was a mix-up with Apple, I was sent the wrong iPod. Not that I was disappointed, (ok yes, I was), but I was really looking forward to the iPod Touch and not the iPod Classic. I sent the iPod Classic back to Apple, (thanks to them for paying postage), and I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of my beautiful little gadget I have decided to name, Pink. Why Pink? Because I have been searching for accessories and I’m going with a pink theme, just as I did with my cell phone. I found a shop online, pdostore.com, offering an assortment of iPod accessories, and although I won and didn’t buy, I still want to protect the device. We may consider them toys, but expensive toys. The pdostore.com site has a variety of items for both iPods and iPhones. Below is what I am wanting:

ipod touch protector

Only in pink. The protector comes with the cling-on screen protectors too so that saves me a little money. I stop at nothing to pimp my gadgets. If only they had the protector with frogs, or Hello Kitty, I’d be set. P.S-yes you may purchase this item as a Christmas gift for me.

55% Geek-Doesn’t Surprise Me.

I’m not one to take online quizzes, but I followed a link from another blog to see just how much geekness I depict. 55% geek. I was hoping for a little higher score, but the Star Trek, comic book and solving computer issues in the shower, questions threw me off. Maybe I’m not a geek since I don’t care for Star Trek, I stopped reading comics when I was about 12 and shower time is for relaxing, not thinking about how to install Linux.

Quizzes have long been a part of blogging life, starting back in my LiveJournal days and if you’re into boredom busting blog stuff, follow my quiz link below and find out how geeky you are.

If You Get Stumbled, Make Sure Your Web Server Can Handle It.

I’d like to thank all of you who have stumbled several of my posts over the last few days. In fact, I think my web host, DreamHost would like to thank you too. Earlier this evening must have been a high-usage time for Stumblers because I received well over 200 hits in less than an hour. So many hits, it slowed the site down for about 10 minutes. Oh and so many hits I’m not 100% sure of the total count because my log size is small and didn’t record the hits after the log reached its limit.

I’ve been considering it for a while, and I really think it’s time to go to a dedicated server. Not just because of today’s slow-time, but because, as many of you know, I’ve suffered through being on an extremely slow shared server since I started this blog. DreamHost has an invitation only special going on, not a dedicated server but an add-on to my hosting. I would get my own Virtual Machine, still on the shared hosting plan, but protected CPU and RAM usage. I’m not sure it’s for me, I can sign up and go through the waiting list, it’s actually a decent deal considering the problems I’ve had in the past. Here is the site which outlines the features:

DreamHost Private Servers. Any advice?
