Maxine Thursday.

It’s been a while since I last posted a Maxine cartoon. I’ve received a lot of comments and emails asking if I do the comic-I wish because I’d be rich. Maxine is drawn by John Wagner-a Hallmark artist who first sketched the wise-cracking old lady back in 1986. She is the first and only cartoon character to originate from the greeting card industry. She’s appealing to so many people because she tells it like it is-like in the cartoon below.

It’s Maxine Cartoon Time Again.

It’s been way too long since I’ve posted a new Maxine cartoon. This week’s cartoon deals with bosses. Perfect for what I am about to write.

My boss is off this week, so she set it up with another programmer for me to assist him in some project which hasn’t been touched in probably a year. I basically go through news stories, (starting in 1985!) and use a little program he wrote which filters the stories one by one in order to look for extra characters and other viewable mistakes caused by an old typesetting program used years ago. Hey, I’m getting paid to sit there and do this, and paid semi-well, so why not? But this isn’t what is so freaking hilarious. I walked into the guy’s office to find a mess. Not your average office clutter-I’m talking a huge mess. Apparently he has some kind of obsession with plastic bags, cardboard boxes, empty microwavable soup cans and coffee cans. Because they are scattered and stacked in his office, which isn’t any larger than a jail cell. What is it with programmers and being so, well, unorganized and um, strange? I know not all are, but a few I have met in the last several years-quite scary. Anyway, on with the Maxine cartoon.

I can name a few supervisors I’ve had in the past that I secretly saluted each day.

It’s Maxine Time Again!

Yes, yes, it has been quite a while since I have posted a new Maxine cartoon. With everything going bad on in my life I’m finding it impossible to keep up with everything. But fret no more Maxine lovers! Tonight I am posting a new ‘toon for your enjoyment. In fact, I’m thinking of taking her advice and finding a younger man. A younger man would be fun to train handle.

Maxine On Easter.

It’s Easter and I’m sitting here watching Charlotte’s Web. I’ll give a review later tonight- so far I absolutely adore it. At any rate, what does a 34 year old receive for Easter? A Hello Kitty plush easter basket, with Hello Kitty lotion and samples of perfume and mascara. The pros of having a mother who works retail. Last but not least, Maxine, on Easter. Enjoy.
