I’d Like To Thank The Spammers From India and Russia.

Without you, most of my visitors would be from the United States. In the last 2 weeks, however, I have observed a spike in hits from India and Russia. My blog is truly international. And the comments? Well, at least you’re polite and say, “Sorry, but…” before leaving 50 links to who knows what types of websites. Are you being paid per link, or, per comment? I think you all need a raise-in fact, tell your boss to contact me. It is too bad I have 2 spam measures in place, (one being Akismet), to prevent 99.9% of the comments from actually going through. You work so hard, typing your little fingers off for the sake of male enhancement products and where to buy prescription drugs online.

I’m also impressed by one person who has attempted to meet the required 3 comments before you’re “followed,” but, alas, I’ve had to send your remarks to the spam folder. Nice try-your IP and domains have been added to the ban list.

Oh-if you’re name happens to be Cash, How To Make Money, Drugs4U, or anything of the like and you do leave a relevant comment, I’m still sending it to the spam graveyard. Aliases are fine, but don’t overdo it.

And it feels wonderful. Maybe one day I’ll share my story of a month and a half of hell as a moderator.

Seven Things You Love-Monday Version.

Seven Things You Love

Seven Things You Love

Usually, I don’t do memes. In fact, I can’t remember the last time I participated in one. But, since Chay, from The Evolution of Insanely Chay, presented this award to me, I decided maybe I should do more memes/carnivals, etc.

This is extremely easy. All you have to do is name seven things you love, anything-and tag 7 other bloggers. First, I’ll name seven things I love.

  1. My mother.
  2. Daisies.
  3. The smells of Spring and Fall.
  4. Frogs croaking.
  5. Warm sunshine on my face.
  6. Writing.
  7. Dreams, (not sleep dreams).

The bloggers I am tagging are those who have taken the time to either comment, purchase Entrecard ads from me, or, drop Entrecards on my blog. Give and receive, I call it. Without further ado:

The Domestic Goddess: Not Just Another Mommy Blog.

The Domestic Goddess

The Domestic Goddess

Usually, when a blogger comes across a blog called, The Domestic Goddess, he/she thinks, “Oh no, another mommy blog.” Well, you’re wrong. I’ll admit, I once disliked the so-called mommy blogs. They’re a force to be reckoned with, not to mention, I never really thought I had much in common. I’m single, no kids. But- once I began reading the blogs, I realized something: With all of the niche blogs/bloggers in the world, these women stand by each other no matter what situation arises.

Crista, the author of The Domestic Goddess, is an Army wife to Soldier Boy, raising two adorable kids, aptly nicknamed Ladybug and Little Man, (no really, 2 adorable kids!). To begin with, kudos to her for being a military wife. I couldn’t do it, I don’t know how she handles the stress. Wait, yes, I do-she has her wee ones and her blog and many interests. One of them being, get ready because I became excited when I read the post-a Tastefully Simple Consultant. Ok, who says yum-ee? I do. In fact, she is having a Birthday Give-Away, ending March 12, (duh, her birthday and it’s my cousin’s birthday too!), and all you have to do in order to enter is, comment, follow, or blog about it, (does this count Crista? hehe). I’m not going to tell you what delectable items she’s giving away-you have to visit her blog to find out… but yes, both items are yum-ee.

Crista is one blogger I enjoy. She has such an upbeat personality-it shows through her writings. I’ve added her to Google Reader and will now be on my Entrecard Drop list. I learned a little tip too- for those of us who like snacking, who would have thought Wasabi Peas could be an alternative to chips. I love spicy foods, although they don’t like me, but I have never tried Wasabi Peas. Several years ago, my mother’s ex man-friend found a recipe for something and needed the peas, but we couldn’t find them anywhere here in Charleston, (not even the one, yes one international market we have). I may send her some moola via PayPal and have her buy some to send.

Please check out Crista’s blog, The Domestic Goddess. Forget about the mommy blogger syndrome. What you’ll find is a group of women, much needed in the blogging world, who have the toughest job of anyone- raising the leaders of the future.
