These reality talent shows are also ageist (at least in the US. Hell, American Idol won't give anyone over the age of 30 a chance. I think it is sad that this is such news, if we didn't judge people by their looks, it wouldn't be such a story. She is a lovely singer, it is just too bad people were so shocked and astounded that someone who looks the way she does could sing so well. Sad.
