The Unexpected Sneeze And What To Do.

sneeze.jpgYesterday evening, I was eating the thawed, re-heated veggie soup I had made a few days ago. The soup was made in my brand new 5 1/2 quart pot, for the record and it was delicious. At any rate, I have a tendency to add a lot of pepper to just about anything pepper can be added to-which included the soup.

Here I am, enjoying my homemade soup, when I sneezed. One of those, “Holy hell where did that come from,” kind of sneezes. I had no time to prepare. My mouth was full of green beans, corn, crackers, carrots-and these ingredients went flying across my living room. What do you do when this happens?

First, get a vacuum. Suck up all the food and empty the container. Then, look for any stray pieces that may have launched out of range during the sneezing process. This is where my problem commences- I know I had a few pieces of corn in my mouth. I vacuumed up two and I’m missing one. I swear to you I cannot find this one piece of corn and it’s driving me crazy. Am I the only one who goes through the anxiety of having the possibility, of a future guest, sitting down on the couch and finding a 3 month old dried kernel of corn that just so happened to fly out of your mouth during an unexpected sneeze? I will find that corn. If I have to tear this living room upside down.

I so know what you are talking about! And the unexpected killer sneeze always nails you right when you have a mouthful of something hard to clean up. Chewed up Cheereos and milk, chewed up oreos, a nice big mouthful of cranberry juice, or V8 Twist or something that ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT come out of the…um, upholstery, carpet, wall paint, art hung on the wall, books, cats…all the usual stuff.

i feel the best way to fix this situation is to try to execute a dry sneeze next time. try to sneeze after swallowing first.

Lol that’s funny. I too had one of those unexpected sneeze moments. Mine was actually in a restaurant with my bosses! It was humiliating!

Count yourself lucky, I almost never only sneeze once – usually 6-8 times consecutively until I’m gasping for air. At work, my colleagues find it hilarious and try to guess how many sneezes I will have before passing out ;)
Thankfully, though, there has, thus far, never been any food involved!

Everyone had one of those unexpected sneeze moments. I think that it can happen to anybody and that excusing yourself is more than enough in such a situation.

I had a sneeze like that when I was little…The bad part was it was at my friends house and I sneezed milk out all over our fresh pizza!
