Tattoos Of The Girlie Geek.
I’ve always promised decent pictures of my tattoos and last night, my friend and I went driving around since we were bored and she brought her digital camera. Yes, she did get an actual pic of me, but I hate it because I look drunk and/or stoned-and I was sober. So I’m debating on whether to post it, or wait until we’re in better lighting, other than the light of an SUV, to get a better pic. Below are my tats, with information of where they are on my body. Oh, and I didn’t take the pics of the tats on my ankles-since I’m doing my leg shaving scientific experiment, I haven’t shaved.
A much better shot of the Hello Kitty tattoo on my right shoulder blade. When I have the cash again I plan on having a cover up done on the Kanji tat on my left shoulder blade, with Hello Kitty dressed as a little devil- an angel on one side and the devil on the other- get it?

The next tattoo is the heart on the back of my neck. I wish I had kept the website I found the design on-it was an art site and I loved the shape of the heart. The sketch was named, “Eternal Love.”

This tattoo was the first I had done on my back. It’s in the middle of my lower back- a tribal daisy since daisies are my favorite flowers. I wish now I had asked them to go a little bigger, but I can always have it extended within another design.

The last of my back tattoos is the tribal heart/daisies on my right hip. Out of all 9 tattoos I have, this hurt the most. It’s really hard to see the design because of the way I was turned, but I would like to some day connect this tattoo with the one in the middle of my back for one, large lower back piece.

It is true, once you get a tattoo you’re addicted. I am the last person anyone would suspect of having one tattoo, much less 9 total. I think having a piece of artwork which has meaning, on your body is a beautiful thing. I realize it isn’t for everyone, (ask my mom she hates them), and I understand. Just because someone has a tattoo, or 2, or 9, doesn’t make the person trashy, or a rebel. For me each tattoo was done during a period in my life where I needed meaning and satisfaction. All of my tattoos represent a small part of my personality-don’t get a tattoo because you think it’s the “in” thing- do it for the art, the meaning and if you enjoy an hour or more of pain.

A great way of expressing yourself. Those tattoos are cool.

Awesome tattoos
. My mum’d kill me if I ever got one, so I’m guess I’m stuck with clean skin.
Not that I particularly want one. Wanted a welsh one, had a henna one done to see how it looks, I’ve got overly spotty skin and it looked terrible

I’ve got a tat of a star on each wrist that my mom absolutely loves – oh wait, no she doesn’t.
So uhh, where’s the How2Blogger tattoo? Or haven’t you gotten that one done yet?

The daisy is my very most favorite flower, too! I like Hello Kitty, also. Since I am a cat, I am Not Allowed to get a tattoo. I have a mark like Hello Kitty on one of my paw pads though.

I LOLed on Daisy’s comment. Figures she’d like your daisy and Hello Kitty tattoos.
I like tats but I haven’t found anything that would be meaningful enough to put on my body.

I love my tattoo but…IT HURT!!
I guess I am a big sissy because I won’t get another one unless it comes from a vending machine and washes off!

You were having a lot of fun clicking pics of those tattoos. Weren’t you? I could just feel how much fun you were having.

Nice, never knew you were in jail. ps. I’m joking, not criticizing. I just never found anything I wanted printed on my body for the next 50 years. Except maybe my turnip logo.
Rhys: If you look close enough at the Hello Kitty tattoo you can see a few freckles. So I have a freckly Hello Kitty
I was 28 I think when I got my first tattoo and I was terrified to tell my mom. She’s pretty much gotten over the shock of the other 8 LOL
Leigh: I am lovin’ the Hello Kitty. Have for a few years now. Like I said, when I find a job and save enough cash I’ll get her dressed as the devil on my left shoulder. I already have the pic. I have a heart/star on my left breast but it’s so faded I don’t like showing it. I think the guy was nervous because he was so near my boobage.
How2: A friend of mine just had a Kanji symbol done on her left wrist and said it hurt. I’m not that brave. Oh and as for the How2 Tattoo? It’s in a “special” place.
CyberCelt: Thanks for stopping by. I know, I know I need to get back into BYB Sundays.
Daisy The Curly Kitty: We have so much in common! You’re hairy, I’m hairy when I don’t shave, you love Hello Kitty, I love Hello Kitty- and girl you’re workin’ it anyway, you don’t need a tattoo.
mariam: I love going to Daisy’s site-I crack up every time. I mean cats are so easy to add commentary to because you can just look at them and each time they’ll have a different expression. As for the meaning behind tattoos- mine may not be “meaningful” in the sense as some see tattoos-mine came about during certain periods in my life- and I can remember which tattoo I got during which period and what was going on. Sort of like history on my body.
offended: The one that hurt the most for me is the heart/flower on my hip- I don’t know if the skin is thinner on the spot or what. Everyone asks me if my ankles tats hurt- well yes they hurt, but it isn’t the kind of pain most associate it with. If you get another one I’ll go with you and hold your hand
Paws: If you only knew, how hard it was to get those pics-even with another person holding the cam. Had we been in a house sure it would have been easy. But we got the idea while driving around and I was sitting in a Ford Escape trying not to look like I was stripping
Turnip: Get your logo on your butt- no one would ever know but you, plus, if someone did see it, it’d be one hell of a conversation piece.
I want a hello kitty tat now. I’ve always loved hello kitty. *shhhhh* don’t tell anyone. All the other horror writers would never let me live it down….

Nice work. Tats are indeed addictive, and I too tend to get surprised looks when folks find out about the ink. Even as mainstream as they have become, I guess they are still associated with a type.
I always tell people who are undecided to just wait – when you find the right design, you’ll know it.
Great post.

I just got my largest tat done on my shoulder/back and it was more tender (ie painful) then the one I got one my left inside wrist or ankle. Depends on the person and where your personal “tender spots” are.
