Two years ago I decided to do something special for my little cousin, Tyler, for Christmas. He was 4 years old at the time and I knew buying a regular gift would be difficult, because he had so much already. A friend sent me a link to Letters From Santa, a site where you can purchase personalized letters and even phone calls, from Santa himself. I ordered both a letter and a scroll which had his name on the list of the “good boys and girls,” and he was so excited to receive both. The letters come post-marked from the North Pole, has the child’s name and you can even add toys or gifts the child has asked for, making the letter seem even more authentic. The scroll I ordered, (which I don’t see on the site this year), had his name listed under the “good kids” list and he was so relieved after finding this out! Not having kids myself, or nieces/nephews, Tyler and his little brother Luke are like my own. I miss the magic of Christmas from a child’s point of view and sending a personalized letter from Santa was the perfect gift. He still believes in Santa, so he has no idea I sent the letter. In a few years when he understands the meaning behind Christmas and asks who sent the letter, it will make me feel a little more special because I was able to bring more Christmas magic his way.
