I was lucky enough to have parents who allowed me to have pets, both dogs and cats, but the dogs were always my favorites. Since my dog, Molly, who lives with my mom since I can’t have pets in this house, is almost 12 years old, I know she doesn’t have many years left. I would love to be able to move so I could buy a little lap dog, but, my mom’s man-friend has a German Short-Haired Pointer who had puppies about a week ago and I’m going to talk him into letting me keep one where he lives.

For those who are not familiar with the German Short Hairs-the one to the left looks almost like Sheeba, the dog I’m writing about. She’s great with kids, runs like a Greyhound and is one of the most lovable dogs I have been around. She was bred with a Beagle, mostly for the hunting skills both breeds have, but for temperament too. Sheeba gave birth to a litter of seven, but one didn’t make it, sadly. I was teasing my mother’s man-friend I had the puppy picked out, the one with the white stripe on the top of her head, (amazingly enough every pup is black and white), and I expected him to let her sleep in his room in a dog bed, paint her nails every week and buy her a sweater. He gave me the odd look he usually does when he thinks I say something ridiculous, but if I had a dog living with me now- you can bet I’d carry her around in her own little case, she’d have clothes and her nails would be painted. Am I crazy?
