Four Foods On Friday #2.
It’s Four Foods Friday again at Fun, Crafts and Recipes, so be sure to add the questions to your blog, answer and leave a comment at the link above.
1. Do you like hot dogs, if so how do you eat yours? If not, why don’t you eat them?I love hot dogs. There is nothing like a West Virginia hot dog and if you’ve never had one, you just do not understand. I eat mine with chili, (no not with beans and no not hot dog sauce, it’s chili here), slaw, onions, mustard and ketchup.
2. What’s your favorite type of store bought cookie? (meaning mass produced, like Oreos.)I don’t know the brand but they’re the cheap dollar store kind with the vanilla filling- I dip them in hot tea.
3. Is there a food where you live that is hard to get anywhere else?A West Virginia Hot Dog!
4. Do you drink milk? Whole, 2%, no fat or other? Or, why don’t you drink milk?I never pour just a glass of milk. Maybe chocolate milk once a year, but I don’t really like the taste and I’m a wee bit lactose intolerant. Blech. If it’s on sale I’ll drink skim, if not it’s 2%.

have you ever had a cheese coney from skyline? it’s cincinnati chili and sounds kind of like what you put on your WVa hot dog – no beans in the chilli. A coney is a hot dog with the cincinnati chilli, onions, mustard, and topped with a mountain of medium cheddar cheese – delicious!
Most people here don’t believe in cheese on hot dogs lol- once in a while I’ll put a slice of American cheese around the wiener but that’s it. WV chili is mainly ground beef/chili powder, onions, ketchup browned in a skillet. Some have special recipes with other ingredients, but they all end up tasting basically the same. Very distinct and yummy flavor.
Cookies and tea….ewwww. I don’t know about that one;)
Why is there nothing like a WV hotdog? Are they made out of possum?
Fabeo: You have heard of the people who go around (for their daily jobs), and pick up roadkill? Have you not had slaw and mustard on a nice skinned raccoon before? I could always slap one between a bun, pack it in dry ice and send it to ya. No really-find a West Virginian in Florida, I can tell you where a few live I’m related to them and ask them if they miss West Virginia hot dogs. Their answers will be yes.
Gotta love a WV hotdog! But NO ketchup — ever!
