Big Brother, Life And Blogging.

I know everyone is asking- “Where has Beth been?” Well, I’ve been around. Life gets in the way of blogging at times and I have really needed the break. I’m still addicted to Big Brother 8 and I’m going to continue to blog.

Through the weekend I will be doing a massive clean up of posts, comments and a new theme. My ratings are slipping, (oh no, life is over), and I want to bring something fresh to my writing and the overall content of this little blog. I have quite a few emails to catch up on from blogging friends- don’t worry I’ll work those in this weekend as well. Summer is almost over-thank goodness because the heat is almost unbearable here, (104 one day-broke a record) and I’m settling in for a long winter of blogging fun. Can you see my excitement? Really, it’s there- I just need to get motivated once again. Stay tuned, folks, hopefully I’ll have everything up and running smoothly by Monday.

My Big Brother Obsession.

Ok, since it’s the weekend and I’m watching live feeds of Big Brother 8, I am now officially obsessed. In fact I had to turn them off because I was getting so irate over Eric and his lies- he was chosen to be “America’s Player” and he is screwing us all. I can understand defending yourself in a game, but he jumped the gun and wanted Nick out of the house so bad because he saw him as a threat and campaigned so hard to get him out-before he even knew how America wanted him to vote-which of course was to vote out Kail. He’s using everyone- Dick and Daniele will be out before the end and they’re the only ones not using another house guest to advance themselves, well if you don’t count Zach, whom everyone is using at this point. Ok.. I really need to chill out and get through this obsession.

Big Brother 8-The Dumbest Group Ever.

This season I decided to watch Big Brother again. I grew bored with it in season 2-mainly because of the changes they made in how the game was played. I only began watching this year because I have Showtime free for 3 months. Let me just say-good grief this is the dumbest group ever. As a whole that is- I do have my favorites but how in the hell did CBS choose this group of freaks? I am going to break-down how I feel about each house-guest.

Joe, Carol and Mike: Good riddance to the first two- they made a mistake when they evicted Mike. Sure, Mike was a bore and basically just took up space in the house, but they needed to get rid of Kail. End of story.
Nick: Liked him- if only he had come clean to a few people other than Daniele. They made a huge mistake in getting rid of him.
Amber: Oh my god where did they find this basket case. First, she hooks up with Dustin. She cries over a hangnail and finds religion with Jameka. She had to ask Jameka what “adultery” meant during one of their “bible readings.” Enough said.
Jameka: Liked her before she got on her religious high horse. Yes, I believe in God-but I’m really doubtful that God is concerned over 14 people locked up in a house and finds the time to speak to Jameka directly about who to use the Power of Veto on. In one breath she praises God-the next she cusses like a sailor. Hypocrite?
Kail: Whatever with her. She’s tried for 3 seasons to get on Big Brother and was chosen finally to join a group of losers. Another religious nut who finds that throwing the Bible into the picture some how makes her better than everyone else.
Eric: I liked him up until the banner flew over stating he and Amber were liars, (which they are), and he flips out and starts bashing Daniele and Dick. He made a big mistake in so outwardly wanting Nick gone-before he knew who America wanted. He is, after all, supposed to be America’s player. He has barely tried-proof was last week’s half-assed attempt to show reasons why Kail should leave. He’s using Jessica, which I hate because I liked her.
Jessica: As I just stated, I liked her. Unfortunately she’s a traitor and is unknowingly allowing Eric to use her. She made a statement to Eric the other night, that if she found out after they left the house he was the 2nd votes for Kail, she would kick his ass. Get your ass-kicking shoes ready, Jess. You’ll need them.
Dustin: I usually like the gay guys on reality shows. Not this time. Don’t trust him and certainly don’t believe he deserves to win.
Jen: What can I say about Jen that hasn’t already been said. She’s self-centered, egotistical and rude. However, since the outing of Eric as a liar, I really do think Jen and Daniele could work well together. It would most definitely take the other house guests by surprise. We’ll see what happens.
Daniele: She’s my favorite simply because she’s smart. She made a mistake hanging around Nick so much the first month-which may turn out to hurt her in the end. It’s too bad the other house guests think Eric is so honest and on a pedestal.
Dick: Most people don’t like him because he’s so brash. That’s the reason I like him. He can’t keep his mouth shut which is his biggest downfall. I would hang out with him in real life for sure.
Zach: I feel sorry for him. No one wants to hang out with him yet they know they need him on their sides. It would be hilarious if he ended up winning.

So, there we have it folks. I’m watching the Showtime feed now and simply cannot stand Eric, Jameka, Dustin, Amber and Jessica. They are the worst players I have ever watched on any reality show. They think they know it all and don’t- and have jumped the gun in trusting too many people too soon. I’m tellin’ ya- I really need Xanax to watch Big Brother 8.

Maxine Thursday.

It’s been a while since I last posted a Maxine cartoon. I’ve received a lot of comments and emails asking if I do the comic-I wish because I’d be rich. Maxine is drawn by John Wagner-a Hallmark artist who first sketched the wise-cracking old lady back in 1986. She is the first and only cartoon character to originate from the greeting card industry. She’s appealing to so many people because she tells it like it is-like in the cartoon below.
