Uh, Sorry For The Database Errors-One Interview Down, The Other Rescheduled.
For those of you who came to this blog and saw all of the MySQL errors? Apparently that is what happens when one updates the Text-Link-Ads plugin. I updated it Friday- it’s now Monday. Go figure.
So this morning I made it to the first interview 20 minutes early. I like to show potential employers how prompt I am- I’m not normally 20 minutes early for anything, but this is what happens when your mother insists on driving you because the job is downtown and she doesn’t feel it’s safe although it was day-time. I just kept thinking the entire time, “Please, do not let anyone I know see me getting out of my mother’s car on the side of the street.” I felt like I was 15 again and she was dropping me off at the mall, giving me all of the “instructions” on when to call her, who not to speak with etc. I thought for a moment she was going to kiss me on the cheek and hand my my paper-bag lunch and yell, “Have a good day.” Thankfully, she didn’t. At any rate, the interview was typical. He babbles on about the job duties, none of which were very clear other than one “side duty” would be assisting on the help desk, oh and the fact the hours are Tuesday-Thursday 2:30pm-1:30am and Fridays 11am-7pm. Hey- I can handle a 4 day work week. The salary-better than expected though not what I was making when I worked for the state. I’ll never be paid that well again.
The second interview this afternoon is rescheduled for tomorrow at the same time. I sat in the office for 25 minutes until the receptionist told me she had to reschedule due to a business lunch that was running a little late. A little late? Lunch is 12pm-1pm. The interview was scheduled for 1:30pm. This is the job I’m most interested in because it’s a Training Coordinator position with a local Realtor association. I can train people. I swear.
Now, I am pooped, for those of you who aren’t southern that means tired. I must nap. Oh, remind me to tell y’all about Mohit, a foreign recruiter who has called and emailed me about a Data Analyst job for the US Navy. What has our country come to?

I hate interviews. Giving and getting them. Sweating up my good suit … LOL. Visiting for Click and Comment Monday from Advertising for Success, just following the do follow blogroll.
CyberCelt:: Any advice on what you look for when giving an interview? I mean I have been through so many and not getting jobs I’m qualified/over-qualified for -it HAS to be me. Even though I’m personable, professional, dressed well and answer without hesitation- still nothing.
One down, one to go! Good luck, you’ll do great!
The text link ad plugin is almost more trouble than it’s worth! I’ve had nothing but errors with it.
I have been doing a little bit of interviewing candidates to work with/on my little program help desk, and I still don’t have a knack for it yet but in time I guess. My lead and I usually have tagged teamed the interviewee. She would explain the aspects of th e job and I would ask the Tech questions related to experience.
Court: Thanks! I need it.
Art: I had 3 advertisers paying me monthly to be listed. I can’t even get a response from TLA about the issues. I just removed the plugin. Wasn’t that much money anyway.
Dash: Hire me. I’m competent. But I also don’t take crap from people either- maybe those interviewing me sense this.
