Douglas: East of Eden was ok- I don't think at the time I was really in the mood to read it. Believe it or not I have never read Grapes of Wrath. Marilyn: On my list the two that I HIGHLY recommend are "I Know This Much Is True" and "She's Come Undone", both by Wally Lamb. Excellent reads. Not having television for the last five or six years has really left me out of the loop. I have read a few newspaper articles about the whole book club thing and I think Oprah gets a bad rap because some people don't think anybody without a degree in literature has a right to an opinion about a book. In my new found quest to read books that require actual thought, I'm going to set out to read some of these. I haven’t read any of these and I love Oprah.
