Is Eating This Food, Stealing?

Ok, I know the title may not make sense, but hear me out. Let’s say you work for a place which offers free food to its guests. You are told during training and I am quoting, “Feel free to eat what you want, as long as it doesn’t have to be cooked.” Would you consider eating a bowl of cereal, or a muffin, as stealing? For one, you aren’t a guest. Secondly, you’re being paid by this establishment to serve its guests, (no matter how painful this might be). How much food is too much? Three bagels? Two donuts? Why am I asking this? Because I felt guilty for eating a danish last night. Am I too honest, or would any of you feel the same?

Say your working at Taco Bell, you get free food there, how much would you consider too much? I ate free there alllll the fricken time. Had no problems with it what so ever. I still get free food now because the old managers still know me from when I was managing the place.

No, a danish is not too much. Unless it had a name.
If they tell you that you can eat, go ahead. At least you seem like an honest person.

blue: Good God Almighty you get free food at Taco Bell. Send me some of those zesty nachos.
shokthx: It didn’t have a name. Its parents gave it up for adoption. I did have a bowl of Fruit Loops this morning. Damn they were good.

If they did say “feel free to eat what you want” you shouldn’t feel guilty about it. And besides it’s only one danish. ;D

I think it’s fine. You were told it was okay in training. As long as you abide by the “not cooked” rule and you don’t abuse it, I think you will be fine.

Just don’t touch them all when you are trying to choose which Danish to eat.
