Why Do People Care About Pluto?

Since the big news broke about Pluto no longer being a planet, but, a dwarf planet, (I’m confused if dwarf planet is being politically correct, perhaps the scientists should consider describing it as a “little planet”, or, “big planet challenged”), bloggers have gone nuts. At least 1/3 of all blogs I have browsed since the announcement have posted something about our once 9th planet. Forget the wars, forget famine, AIDS, for God’s sake a planet has been taken from our solar system! The nerve of the scientists! Unless you are on Pluto mentally, (and I’m quite positive 40% of said bloggers are on Pluto, mentally that is), why such an uproar? It isn’t as if we would land on the planet one day. Is it because remembering 8 planets is more difficult? Did any of you plan on visiting when you won the lottery and could afford to build a technologically advanced spaceship? Get your panties out of a bunch and concern yourselves with something closer to home. You know, home, Earth. Pluto hasn’t disappeared, it’s still there, it just isn’t a planet. Please contact all motherships and tell your people to relax.

It’s because people have nothing better to do than bitch about something that they can’t do anything about!
