Done And I Got The Job.
I’m actually finished doing themes and I don’t plan on updating this blog as often. Reason? Blogging isn’t fun at this point. It seems as if the entire blogging world has turned into some sort of school yard competition and I really have no desire to be a part of it. The break will enable me to get back to the stage I was at before joining any type of traffic exchange. When I was me and I didn’t have people telling how I should, or, should not blog. I have read quite a few blogs with “Rules For Blogging” as if they’re an elitist group who has the power to control someone’s life. Think about it. Why did blogging begin? So people could share their lives with others. When you give these so called pointers, you are basically telling that person his or her blog sucks and won’t be successful. How many of us will be successful bloggers? Perhaps 1% of the total number of people out there blogging. That’s who. I didn’t start blogging to make money. I didn’t start blogging to make sure my Google Page rank was 5 or above. Or that I’m some kind of Rodent in a make-believe ecosystem. I blogged because it was theraputic. Simple. I will never become rich by writing about my little life in West Virginia. Neither will those who tell others how to write a blog. Traffic exchanges are supposed to be-traffic exchanges. Where bloggers find new, interesting blogs to read. Not to trash someone’s writing. Not to say someone’s design is horrible. I think all of you need to get over yourselves and get back into reality. If you feel the need to trash talk someone’s life, then you obviously have failed in yours. Enough said.
I received an email with a formal job proposal attached. This is the job I have waited over a month to hear from and I will begin work July 11. I will be auditing employers for Workers’ Compensation-how odd is this since I used to work for Comp. A little less money than I expected and I won’t be paid for another month and a half. But I can now say I will be getting paid. It’s going to be a rough wait, but I can handle it. I will continue to post jokes once in a while, for the entertainment value. When I’m ready and my head has cleared, I’ll blog again. I will also update my blogrolls and add them to this page sometime within the week. Later, blogland.

You’re crowing about landing a dead-end job that won’t pay you squat — and won’t pay you that squat for over a month! — and you’re calling everyone else in Blogland losers? It’s so funny it’s stupid.
Funny, I don’t remember every going through the specifics of the job other than a portion of what I would be doing. I also never stated how much I would be getting paid-I said it was lower than I had expected. This is exactly the reason why I believe EVERYONE needs to get a grip on reality. Especially someone who is afraid to leave the url to his/her blog.
I think you were quite clear about your opinion. I know many that have had to step away from blogging for a bit and just really get time away.
Sometimes I can read blogs during the day and it changes my mood from bad to worse. Not everyone blogs about happy things or pushes having a good life, I realize that, but it does get tedious.
Do what you need to do
I’ll continue to read ya.
It hasn’t been so much the blogs I read-I read many, including blogs I’ve been reading since before the great traffic exchange idea I had-it’s the fact that some people-not all, consider themselves the best of blogging and in turn rate good blogs low, deny them for rental on their blogs etc., etc. It’s like you see this one huge group of blogs-all of them link to each other and smaller, lesser blogs aren’t given the chance. That is what I’m not liking about any of this. Case in point the first comment I received on this post. I never called anyone losers. I said some people need to step away and find reality. That’s it. I have a friend-Andrena-who has one of the best blogs I have ever read. And I mean an exellent read. Yet she’s in the same boat as myself. Yes, she does have more readers, but she also covers a lot of interesting topics. I think it’s a shame that if you aren’t a mommy blog, a blog that trashes others, or a blog that discusses one’s sex life non-stop-you’re pretty much out of the game. So what if I don’t have a niche? Does everyone have a niche in life? No. That’s my point. I appreciate your understanding Cat. Your blog is one of the few I have continued reading.
I’m sorry to read that you’ll be taking a break from blogging. I’ve only been blogging a short while so haven’t come across a lot of negativity yet, but I can see it lurking in the shadows.
Congrats on your new job, and I hope to read some more soon. I enjoy visiting.
I think you’re wrong when you talk about this group of “big blogs”. it exists, and probably more then one, but they’re not as close as you think. just to say that my very very small blog gets an average 12 visits a day, and these big ones i usually visit (which are good indeed!) 2000-7000 hits. i just commented a few times, and i wrote an email to one of them, nothing special really, and within a month i found out all of them had linked back to me, some even talked about me in their posts.
Hope the job works out for you and you decide to keep blogging too! I don’t know enough about blogging except to be dangerous, hehe! Run Good!
