Movie Review: The Wedding Crashers

I was a little skeptical when I began watching this movie. I thought great, another film with potty humor, guy chases woman, gets beat up, loses woman, finds woman. Ok, well, this is basically the movie, but it works. One of the best comedies I have seen in a long, long time. Yes the men (and women I might add) behave as pigs but what ensues is funny stuff. Vince Vaughn plays Jeremy Gray, who in the end finds a woman who matches him perfectly. Owen Wilson, playing John Beckwith does a good job-although I’m not a huge fan of his-and I don’t quite see him as the “leading man” type, he makes it work for the movie. Of course, Christopher Walken as the father-he’s always good in these roles, scary as hell to look at but a pussycat. Rachel McAdams is a Jennifer Garner look-alike, from dimples to mannerisms. Will Ferrell makes an uncredited appearance at the end-playing the part of Chazz well. The funniest character? It’s a toss-up between the grandmother (played by Ellen Albertini Dow) or Jane Seymour as the mother. And neither have many lines-it’s just what they say and do that is so hilarious. If you think your family is dysfunctional-meet the Cleary’s. I give it 4/5 stars.

I’m A Voyeur.

I’m now addicted to watching various webcams/security cameras from around the world. Sometimes I see nothing. Sometimes I see people walking. OpenTopia is a voyeur’s dream. I know I’ve posted it before.. but holy cow it’s addicting. Either that, or, I have nothing better to do. I’m betting on the latter.

Movie Review: War of the Worlds.

First let me say-I still do not like Tom Cruise, however, I decided to watch this film. I’m not quite sure what all of the hype was about-considering the only dialogue I remember is “Rachel get back!” “Daddy!” and that is pretty much it. And what was the huge deal about Dakota Fanning’s performance? Ok, she can act with facial expressions. Which is basically the only true acting in the movie. And the ending? Hello? How in the hell did the kid get to Boston? The special effects were good. Good. Not great, not spectacular, just good. Spielberg could have done a much, much better job with this film.

If You’re Near Charleston, West Virginia..

How about meeting me and buying me $10 in gas, a pack of cigs and a Dr. Pepper. Make it 2 packs of cigs. I’m flat broke. I’m teetering on empty, I don’t have enough change to even get a gallon of gas, I possibly have enough change for the cheapst cigs made and if I dug under the seats in the car I might be able to swing a Dr. Pepper. Which I am craving madly since it’s PMS time. I am so sick of this. The test I took the other day-the paper they sent home with us stated we wouldn’t hear anything for 7-14 days. My cousin works there-unfortunately some like her, some don’t, but the application asked if I had a relative who worked for the company and I had to answer yes. Her sister told me I should have lied about it-yeah ok-these are the people who accused me of lying about having major dental work done when I wasn’t lying at all-now they want me to lie about being related to someone? Hello? I don’t lie-unless it’s something to spare someone’s feelings, even then I don’t feel right about it. Today is the closing date for the State job I sent an application in for-hopefully I’ll hear something positive. I need something positive at this point in my life. I would love to find some way to make a little money from this blog-only so I can keep it running. I was lucky that I signed up with Dream Host because my domain renewel was free-I just have to keep up the $9.95 a month for the service and I really can’t put anything more on my credit card. Maybe I’ll do some searches. I hate to put ads on my blog.. because I hate seeing ads, but it’s all I can think of at the moment. If anyone else has suggestions, please, comment. Or hell just comment. I’m tired of typing to emptiness.
