Another Movie Review: A Beautiful Mind
Yes, I’m several years late on this movie. I’ve had it in my DVD collection-unopened for about a year now. I finally watched it this evening. One word. Brilliant. The movie is based on the life of John Nash-who happens to be from West Virginia. Russell Crowe did an outstanding job as Nash. By the end of the movie I felt like I was the crazy one. Jennifer Connelly played Nash’s wife, Alicia, whom I felt for from the beginning. She saw something in him-it wasn’t looks it was his mind. His brilliant mind. I could actually see, in my own mind, what she saw. I know people always say looks are what attract you to a person. Not for me. It’s the brain. Then the humor. Then the looks. The love she had for him is what helped him fight and go forward. Plus his strength to defeat his demons on his own terms. And win. Yes, they were always there, but he learned how to control the impact on his life. If you want a film which touches you and allows you to see the human spirit conquer a disease that would normally control you completely-watch A Beautiful Mind. It is now on my top list of movies-ever.
And today was movie day in my household.
